HP 2175 printer not working properly Win7 x64 Home Premium

    Hello!

This is my first time using windows again after a 3 year hiatus. I bought a computer and I'm relying more on software that only run in Win7.

I have an HP 2175 All-in-One printer and I've lost the installation cd. I followed the instructions as provided by the support pages directly from HP. Few things happened. First, most of the features of the printer were not working, such as one-touch scanning. If I'd select print landscape, the document would come out portrait. I tried uninstalling, and doing a fresh install, and I've been getting under the control panel device list multiple copies of the HP2175 printer (Copy 1... copy 2.... etc).

I'd like to know, how do I remove the drivers fully, and try a completely new install again, how do I get all the features to work, and how do I get rid of the extra copies of the device?

    Much appreciated for the help!

Remove it using the control panel, un-install software, then check your registry for any left over strings. WARNING!!! - editing the registry can destroy your system if your not careful of what your doing. Make a backup before attempting to edit the registry. Once that is done, re-download software and driver from HP, heres the link. Then just follow on-screen prompts. Do not plug in usb cable until installation tells you to.

Thanks for the responses. I did try and the printer seems to work fine for simple stuff, but for printing landscape from a pdf the page doesn't come out landscape. There are still 2 printer icons, one that's faded, and the other one full color, named hp psc 2170 series (copy 1). I would dabble with the registry except I have no idea how to go about it.
