Wireless Network Card Disappeared

Hi guys n girls

My brother has a laptop - wireless network card just stopped . I am going to:

1. Uninstall network card and reboot to see if the system picks it back up.
2. Update the drivers.
3. Check for Malware.

If they don't work then I'll do a restore point.

If all the above doesn't work what would you suggest before getting a new network card - presuming it can be replaced and not an on board type ?? System recovery ??

Cheers

Woodnome

If the system restore doesn't fix the problem, it's probably because the wireless has gone bad.

Network card name reporting incorrectly in wireless network list area
My rig uses a Centrino Advanced-N 6230 wireless mini half-card. It reports the correct name except within the wireless network list. Instead of 6230 it reports 6320. I searched the registry to see if I could find the error, but nothing found. It's only a nuisance, and a minor one at that. ...

Wireless network card..
At the moment I have a USB wireless adapter and it is extremely annoying at times. The thing falls out, or just doesn't enable during bootup. I should mention this is on WinXP, I am upgrading my desktop parts and the operating system to Windows7. My question is, are wireless PCI adapters just as...
