iomega 1tb external hd wont install

    can you try this rod, take out all the externals you have plugged in and try with the iomega on its own. it could be that the drive letter originally assigned to the iomega is already being used by another external.

    hi

    i think ive covered that by putting it in a laptop with no externals ,instead of the pc which has other externals.

    but i will try it tomorrow, without even a memeory stick or printer lead.

    i hear the motor start, lights on

    but nothing

    its certainly acting dead

    but theres a years worth of material on it so i have to slow pursue the options

    ill see what pc world have to say, theres no rush at this point

    i might try a new case from ebay

    any ideas?

    Some advice, I would steer away from eBay for any PC parts and accessories unless you know the seller personally.
    Do you mean a new emclosure for the iOmega drive or a PC case?

    pc world want £30 to transfer data to another hd

    they say its 99% alway the `enclosure` that gone wrong

    i can not find a enclosure for 1tb iomega( silver, round corner one end)

    so will probby do pc world at some stage
