    Motherboard TDP max? acer system


    i have a acer x3400g and im trying to figure out if my motherboard supports 125w cpus or 95w. since acer mad the motherboard im not sure what kind it is or its max. i dont understand this specification page somebody help plz. heres the link to my computer. Acer Support: Specifications

    It tells you right in the CPU supported list,

    AMD Phenom™ II X4 quad-core desktop processor 965/955/945/925/910/910e (6 MB L3 cache, 2 MB L2 cache, 512 KB L1 cache; 3.40/3.20/3.00/2.80/2.60/2.6 GHz, DDR3 1333 MHz, 140 (125 W)/125 (95 W) 125 (95 W) /95/95/65 W
    The 965/955/945 (and a couple of others) are all 125W CPU's. You can confirm what they are here,

    hmm, ok so this computer can definately run a 125w cpu... i did update the bios, so a 970 just simply wont work cause its not supported in the bios?
