Install it in XP Compatibility mode, make sure that all remnants of the old install are Deleted (use Revo Uninstaller free).
@kodi thankx for tip .i also thought of the same and did it but there are 2 problems.
1) it says there's no enough space .(basically it requires approx 500mb of temp folder to download and extract files.)
2) after about 10% of downloading it says timeout .i don't know why its throwing this error.
Anyways thx for this tip to make it work on xp.its working partially for me at least now.
Try your download again, then again if needed. That time out is a server or ISP issue, not your PC.:)
Oh, do use Revo to uninstall the old program with safe settings.
@britton30 - Yes i do i use revo but not with safe settings i use advance settings.
When i use xp mode and do downloading it says there's no enough space . any help on this issue as its killing me .
Ahh, I missed it where you said you have XP Mode installed. Increase the size of the VirtualPC.
Ok .
but could you tell me how to increase the size of virtual disk as i am not not aware of it. if its possible could provide screenshots as well.
thanx.
Its been awhile but with the VHD powered off, go to its entry in the Start menu and open the Options window for it.
