Try this . remove that device from device manager . restart then see if this fixed the problem ..

I need to allow access for one make of USB on our PC's and block all other makes from being used.
Can I use Win7 local policy to achieve this.

Problem: Win7 laptop cannot access drive from WinXP machine via USB drive dock.
Background: I have a WinXP desktop machine with a hard drive that may have a virus/trojan/rootkit/etc. ...
I upgraded from XP to Win 7 64 bit. I did what I thought was a clean install with the C drive reformatted. But alas no. The C drive was originally partitioned into 2 (C & E) with one holding the operating system and the other for general use. Now I find that the original partitions are still there....
3 machines involved.
Windows 7 64-bit w/2 hard drives (Machine A)
Windows 7 32-bit notebook (Machine B)
Windows XP, SP3 w/2 hard drives (Machine C)
All machines can access each other's C drive.
Both Win7 machines (A & B) can access 2nd drive on XP machine (C).
Neither B or C can access...
