I would love to be using an SSD drive with my system at the moment but for the money there just isn't enough disk space!
When do you think these things will become close to the regular prices of 3.5" SATA drives?

hmm, do you think it's worth buying one only and using it as a system drive? I could fit a few games and files on it. Anything after that though would have to go on my existing RAID 0 SATA 3.5".
I don't think SSDs will be the same price as spinners ever. They might always cost more, but "gamers choice" YES
If you want the best performance, you need an SSD, it's *arguably* the single most noticeable upgrade you could do.
Just put Windows and some games on a 128GB SSD and the rest of your stuff on normal drives, you will not regret it. Just get a good one. (like mine haha)
I run a 32GB SSD as my C drive and a 1TB sata drive as D. Works well and was low cost
I recently read that OCZ are teaming up fast SSD units to a USB3 interface, giving staggering data access speeds of approaching 5Gb/sec, and this is just intended for external drives...
I use an SSD drive as my system drive. I am running 64-bit Windows 7 and I have an 80GB SSD. I also have a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black as a storage drive. With hibernation off, the page file on the WD drive...with my OS installed and all of my apps, I have 57GB free on C:
You really can stretch these drives when you put a small amount of effort into setting it up properly and evaluating which apps are necessary. And for the performance increase, I think it's very much worth it.
Yeah, as much as I'd like one. I live in Australia and as such pay so much more than other countries...
I'd be looking at $600-$1000 for anything decent speed wise and the capacities would STILL be inadequate.

It turns out that I caved a few months ago and bought an SSD for my system.
OCZ released their Vertex 3 series and I bought the 240GB version, it's pretty fast I gotta say.
For storage I got 2 x 2TB Hitachi SATA 3 drives.
The whole exercise cost me about $1k.
