    Asus motherboard factory sealed?

Hello, Are Asus p8z68-v MBs, either the box or the static bag, factory sealed? I started unboxing the components for my 1st build and the MB was the only thing that wasn't sealed. I watched a bunch of Asus MB unboxing videos last night and they don't seem to be. Thanks.

Don't know about THAT model, but in previous ASUS boards I purchased, the plastic bag containing the motherboard had a piece of tape holding it shut. To open the bag, you had to break or cut the tape.

If yours has no tape strip, maybe they just don't tape them anymore (cost savings??).

I do not have that specific MOBO but mine was packaged in a static free bag but it was not sealed. The bagged MOBO and some parts were in turn packaged in a box that was "tapped shut".

Thanks for the replies. Did some further googleing with conflicting results. Most say they come unsealed. I called Asus and they said that most retailers will open the box to make sure all the parts are included and the static is folded over. Hopefully hes not just telling me what I want to hear. I have no reason to suspect its a returned board, all other parts are sealed and all appears to be new. Guess Ill find out.

A preowned board would not be all bad as long as you don't pay new board prices. This is especially true if the preowned board comes with a new board warranty.
