    LG GH22NS50 won't burn dvd

    Hello.
I've just bought a new pc with the dvd hardware on the title. No matter what I do, and the program I use to burn dvd,s but it doesn't work.
I've tried nero7, nero10, imgburn and the windows recorder and it always goes wrong.
It usually don't start writing. I've even waited for almost an hour, and it won't start, it stays at 0%.
I've tried iso and vob files (image and dvd film) and different verbatim dvd,s (just in case the dvd,s of the case were faulty.
When I burn cd,s there's not problem either with nero or with xpburner, also burning iso files.
I sent the pc to check by the sellers and they told me that they tried it and it worked fine, so I tried to format the pc and after installing only avast antivirus and microsoft office, tried again to burn a dvd, and again I had no success.
I don't know what else I could do.
Thank you very much in advance.
    PS. Sorry for my English.

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

I hope you don't think I'm taking the easy way out, but as your computer is new it will be under warranty, so I think you should contact either your reseller again or the manufacturer to have the drive replaced free of charge.

If you decide to go back to your reseller, insist they try the drive out in front of you and if it works they should explain where you could possibly be going wrong.

Your English is perfect, by the way. :)

You said you formatted the PC. So I presume that it is a custom-built PC assembled by your seller or you bought the optical drive and assembled it yourself.. Either way the seller is obliged to make good the optical drive that is problematic.

And yes, as seavixen said sit with your seller, stick like a pest and ask him to show that it works and satisfy you.

Tell him you have spent countless hours trying to burn DVDs and lost your sleep. Insist that they change to another brand optical drive. From what I have read this particular LG drive has problems galore.

Thank you both very much. I'll talk to them on Monday and tell them everything you said. The pc was assembled by the seller and I alredy told them that I'd heard that this optical is not always working as it should.
I'll tell you whatever they say to me.
    Again, thank you very much.

    Hi!
I'm back. I just wanted to tell you that in the end, there was a problem with the burner. They changed it for a new one (same model) and it's working perfectly ok.
Thank you very much for your time and help.
