SLOW boot times (80+s) when 3TB HDD connected (25s without it)

I'll spare you the boring parts.

I just built my first computer (and LOVE it! ), and everything is working beautifully...except for one issue that I've partly solved.

I have Windows 7 booting off my SSD. As I mentioned, it takes about 25 seconds to boot (I've seen it as low as 17). That's with my Hitachi 3TB HDD disconnected (boy, did THAT take some time to get narrowed down). Every time, 20 some seconds to boot.

With the Hitachi connected (that is the ONLY difference), it takes about 80 some seconds to boot. I've googled it to no avail. Went to Hitachi's website and they have nothing regarding anything this specific...no drivers either.

There's nothing wrong with the Hitachi. I have stuff on it that I use. Windows recognizes it fine.

So anybody have any ideas? I'd like to think that it's not only me that this is happening to!

Don't know whether you're experiencing the same problems as I did, but you might want to read this thread and see whether the solution there works for you.

Slow SSD Boot with long OtherKernelInitDuration delay

Basically, you'll need to move all your data off the Hitachi drive, run a "Clean Command" with Diskpart using these instructions, reboot your machine with the unitialized Hitachi still connected to your SATA port, reformat your drive using Windows Disk Manager, and then move your data back onto the Hitachi.

Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command

I had a long SessionInitOtherDuration delay with my setup, too, and it's now been fixed.
