    Transfer files from windows xp to 7


    I have made the file transfer from my windows xp 32 bit into external disk.
    Now i think i need a spiecel program to transfer it into my new computer that has windows 7 home primium 64 bit.
    Does somebody have an idea?

    depends on the files. if its just music and stuff then nothing is needed just drag and drop, but if its windows components, all you have to do is tell windows you "own/are" the user of the other system. (a box pops up instruction you what to do)

    i go to transfer proccess and needs to open the file saved from the old computer but it not recognized because i think it was saved from windows xp ,it does not support windows xp

    transfer process? if its on an external hard drive, just open it up in my computer and then drag and drop the files from it.

    How did you do the transfer from your XP machine to the external drive? Did you use a program like MS Easy Transfer? If, for instance, you used Easy Transfer on your XP machine, you need to run Easy Transfer on your Win 7 machine to bring those files into Win 7.

    I did do it with easy transfer on the xp ,but when i run it on windows 7 and i hebrew version on windows 7 it writes some text in format of file that i don't have on my external hard drive ,all i have is a gigavytes of .DAT file and one file called status and all that inside a directory called USMT2.UNC

    If transfering from Win XP, download the update WET from here:

    Windows Easy Transfer - Transfer To & From Computers

    Warning do not use the old Win XP Easy Transfer, will not work with Vista or Windowds 7.

    If you mean the the Win XP download, you install in XP.
