Hello Inspire me, Welcome to the forum
It would help if you explained in more detail what is happening when you try to close down the PC.
Could you post a snip of Device Manager? Use the snipping tool to make the picture, save it to Desktop and upload it using the paper clip icon.
You could also try clicking on the start icon, type in msconfig, select it from the list that appears, click on the Startup tab and remove the ticks for your Kodak printer. This will stop these programs starting up with Windows, but you will still be able to start them manually over the start menu. then try again after a new start.
You could also try switching off the printer before you shut down the PC.
This is my Startup list I use a HP printer and always switch of the startup programs after an install as it is really not necessary to have these programs running with Windows

    hello pooch,

Thank you so much for taking the time to offer your advice. and sorry for the delay in my response this is because i tried out your suggestions and they didn't work, however, But i am now getting a message when i turn on and it boots into my welcome screen in windows desktop it reads. ............... BCHELPER.EXE SYSTEM ERROR ........... sqlite3.dill missing. Try to reinstall the programe again. Any ideas what this might be? It all appears in a small box on top of my desktop. I have just been closing it. And the Kodak software is still causing my windows to crash on shut-down, although i have discovered that if i go to start menu and ask it to RESTART then i don't have any problems it does' it, it only seems to happen when i want to close down my computer. I have removed the software from start-up. i have also downloaded the software straight from the manufactures' web page and installed it from the provided disk too. It's driving me mad! this was an expensive printer to buy and they said it is compatable with windows 7.

    Hello

If this message is related to the Kodak software try installing it again this time right click on the installer and select run as Administrator ( it may be advisable to do this anyway regarding your shut down problems)

If this is not related have a look here; Sqlite3.dll - Sqlite3.dll Not Found Error - Missing Sqlite3.dll - Fix Sqlite3.dll

It may be helpful if you post a snip of your system start up (MSconfig). Details about your printer and if your system is 32 or 64 bit and finally a snip of the shut-down screen showing the problem.
