If you have one USB port that's still working you could connect a Hub but if they all broken, it will most likely be expensive if they're soldered into the motherboard. On the other hand you might get lucky if they're just plugged in. I would contact your Laptop's Manufacturer service to get more info (esp. since you didn't tell us what brand/model it is

In what way are the "broken"? Physically or you plug stuff in and nothing happens

    Bosslady,
I did a quick Aspire search and they all have a least 3 usb ports so you should invest in a good powered usb hub for your desks and a non powered for travel.

    Non powered:
Iogear GUH285 USB Mobile HUB - 4-Port, 2.0 Hub at TigerDirect

    Powered:
    D-Link DUB-H7 USB Hub - 7-Port, USB 2.0 at TigerDirect

Many other examples of brand, make and model are available but you get the idea. Powered styles maintain full speed and reduces power draw on the laptop but requires use of a AC adapter/wall wart.

well if its just the socket thats broken, a skilled person should be able to resolder on new ports. if you have a pci slot you could buy a usb port hub to slide in there

As shown in the Service Manual those 2 ports are soldered into the motherboard. I don't know if you can find a person skilled enough to solder a multi layer board. But it's not going to be cheap. Sorry
