    Installing i5-2500k Cooler

    Hey guys.

Intel provides a manual, where it says that when I clicked the four thingies down, I should screw 90 degrees right around. But when I do that, the cooler is loosen from the motherboard. When the screws are the otherway round, it's stuck as it should.

    Did I misunderstand something?

Yes, you rotate those pins to remove the cooler from the mobo. Leave them in place, snap them down and you are set.

I did the same thing on a friends 2500k recently.

I found the stock cooler on my i7 2600k didn't run the chip cool enough for my liking. A relatively low cost Hyper 212+ dropped my CPU temps by ~15C.
    Something to consider.

Note: the Hyper 212 has a back plate and can be a bit fiddly to fit. I might choose another type next.
