USB devices detected and undetected in a cycle

Hi, recently, in my Win 7 32 bit SP1, USB devices like keyboard and mouse are getting undetected and detected every now and then. Troubleshooting shows "hardware changes might not have been detected". All the drivers are up to date. Sometimes the computer showed that there was a power surge in the USB hub. I think the USB hub is losing power every now and then! please help! i don't know, losing power is just my diagnosis!

is this a powered hub, non powered hub, or you referring to the "inbuilt hub"

if its a non powered hub, what are you running off it? as a hub can only handle the power of 1x usb so running 2 thirsty devices it will over power the hub and cause it to disconnect.

I was referring to the inbuilt type!

Looks like your inbuilt USB hub is either defective, or the connections to the motherboard from front USB sockets are not correct.

Are you using the front USB connectors or the rear ones? Usually rear ones are solidly soldered to the motherboard, and hardly give any problems. It is the front ones which are connected through wires, sometimes gives problems.
