    Nor "seeing" new hard drive

I cloned an external drive a while ago and just for piece of mind thought I would do an internal as well but the drive I have installed is not being "seen" in Computer.

    Any ideas please??

Is it seen in the BIOS?

Is it seen in Disk Management?

Hi again John. I had the same problem with cloning and I had to have the drive being cloned internally attached along with the original drive.

You should go to windows explorer and right click on computer and click on manage. Then click on disk management and wait for it to load the volumes on your pc. You should be able to scroll through the list and find out if the missing drive is seen by your OS.

    OK now

Yeah Orange I found in disk management I had to initialise it - sorry for late reply only found it just over an hour ago - all good now mate and I used the EaseUS clone for a change and my goodness it took 40 mins and was so easy I couldn't have fallen off a log any easier.

Macrium was good but this one so simple (needs to be for me) I only tried by curiosity really too

    Ok

Yeah I have learned a great deal ever since I joined up and like I've said befor eevryone has been 100% with me as I have copped a fair bit of flack on a certain forum - flaming I think it's called.

Usually when I explain in private messages to those who have a go at me they certainly change their tune and I have even become quite friendly with them. I gues it's because I don't really understand a great deal and well I sometimes get the impression that some reckon if you go onto a forum you should have least have a fair bit of knowledge to be there. Takes all sorts though.

Yet in Vista 7 and 8 I have only been made to feel a dope the once and it was over some little piddling matter of me "inventing" filters for fans that one can make for oneself and cheaply too. Have at last perfected that so all my machines are now so well filtered I don't have to worry re the rubbish getting in - well only in tiny quantities because you canot ever hope to compltetly seal all the small chinks etc.

Well to end my rant lol my signature is "I the warrior" in ancient English.:) Hence the Avatar.

PS Yeah I am English by birth - please not British

Thanks for the info John. I would be interested in knowing more about your filtering. It is dusty where I live and the PC guts gets a real fine, hard to remove coating of crap.
