Good job zigzag. I can't imagine how that box gets ticked by itself
Thanks

It sometimes gets auto ticked in OS install. OS'es prefer to be installed with less memory.
That's interesting as I always thought you had to intentionally tick that box.

And yeah I've heard all the horror stories about getting Windows 7 installed with 4 or more gig of RAM but I've never had any problems installing Windows on my Gigabyte X-58 MB with it's 6gig of RAM, or my Intel 975 board with it's 4 gig of RAM. And yeah I just checked and neither system is ticked.

At any rate you learn something new all the time.

Thanks.

I did as you said and now everything is fine. I have 7 GB
Thanks a million.
My pleasure and glad to see you are working. Good luck
Wow now that was easy..everyone actually went behind the BIOS and the hardware and motherboard but after all it was Windows which was the culprit

Less than 4.0 GB RAM usable?
It's funny, because ALL of my RAM was usable some time ago. (I have no idea how long ago this was, but it was on the same OS) I am using Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. I know about the whole 32-bit issue where some say you can't use much more than 3GB. Well, I WAS. I wouldn't be writing this...

RAM 6.0 GB (1.95 GB Usable) WTF?!
What's this all about? Last time I checked system properties it said 5.5 GB usable. Now, today I noticed that my sidebar said that my memory is 40% in use and there's only 1.5 GB available. What's going on here? I was thinking it could be my video card taking the memory, but I didn't change any...
