Hard Drive Healthy and a Primary Partition but inaccessible

I've just installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on my new laptop and when I checked my computer only one local disk was visible. When I checked disk management, this was the one shown. The disk has no name and file type.

I don't know what to do. Thank you for helping me! :)

I'm not sure what the problem is.

Looks like you have a single hard drive split into 2 partitions of equal size.

    Was that your intent?

It looks like the partition on the left has not been formatted and assigned a drive letter. You should be able to do that by right clicking it and choosing from the menu.

Yes. I only have one hard drive. When I installed the os, there were 2 partitions. But only one was formattable. I don't know why the other one cannot be formatted. Is there any way I can combine them?

I already tried formatting the one on the left. In disk management, whenever I right click it, only delete volume is the option available. The other options are grayed out.

first delete the ghost volume in "disk management". Second move the C-drive to start postion of disk. Third make C-drive larger.

The last 2 steps you can do that with free software Free Download Magic Partition Manager freeware: EaseUS Partition Manager, Disk & Partition Copy and Partition Recovery Software.
