    DVD writer: burning fails at the end


    Hi All,

    I am having this problem after I switched to w7.

    My DVD writer can read all disks, but while writing it fails at the end. Probably while finalizing the DVD.

    I deleted the device from the device manager a couple of times. It comes back while restarting, but getting the same error.

    I am attaching the log here. Can anybody help? i will be grateful. I do not want to switch back to XP.

    I am using DVD+R disks. Is this a problem with compatibility? Shall use DVD-R disks?

    Didn't we have another thread about this exact same problem before?

    I remember saying you were trying to burn a multisession disc in disc-at-once mode, two conflicting settings. The burning software is leaving the burned session open at the end, so it still needs to be closed (for each disc). Once you do that, the data on it will become readable for Windows.

    No idea about the other thread.

    But it is still there. I tried Imgburn and Ashampoo burning studio without any help.

    I still wonder if the problem is with sessions being left open. Are you able to finalize a disc after the fact (in a separate process)?

    As a last resort, you might try flashing the drive's firmware to the latest available version:

I was unable to burn any dual layer DVD media. I went into log and error message informed me that I had a corrupt AC3 codec. I simply downloaded a new codec and installed it. Problem solved.
I've tried Nero 8 &9, cdburnerXP, Roxio, Ashampoo and "every" disc fails to burn using these programs. On the otherhand Imgburn works fine. I'm running Windows 7 Professional and had Ultimate running with the same outcome. Latest version with all updates. It's as if anything that doens't burn in...
When I burn cd/dvds with Windows 7 built in burning software and windows media player all my burns are successful. When I try to use Nero, CD Burner XP or imgburn, it fails. My computer is plenty fast enough(2.8ghz, 4gb ddr2, 250gb sata hd) and I tried reinstalling windows 7 without nero or deamon...
