I have a computer that I want to update from XP to 7, and so I took the hard drive out of it and plugged it into a different computer I have(using some adapter thing) I went to disk management and went to delete the volumes / partitions and such. so that its all unallocated space and I can do a clean intall. but there's one little part that won't delete. When I right click on it, it just says "help" instead of the menu option things

You didn't have to remove the HD and put it in another PC.

I'd put it back in the correct PC and go ahead and install Windows and delete all partitions in the process.

If you want, you could go into Diskpart at the beginning of the Windows install by hitting Shift F10 at the language screen. You can delete all partitions with a "clean" command in diskpart and then create new partitions.

Or you should be able to delete them all during the regular Windows install without diskpart.
