DWM.EXE memory spikes, resulting in aero being disabled

    I have three 22" monitors.
I have two video cards: one HD 5770, and one HD 6770.

Whenever I run NetFlix on my third monitor (which is attached to the HD 6770 card), DWM (Desktop Windows Management) goes nuts. It spikes to many megs of ram and ultimately reverts to the classic view (that is, non-aero).

I have two choices after this happens: either re-boot, or choose the windows display option of using a previous aero-based theme). I guess I could also use the convoluted option of going through tons of 'clicks' to re-set aero.

    Question:
Is there a way to control DWM memory usage?

    • I would like to know if there is a way to fix this.
    • I would like that aero didn't quit in this situation
    • I would like that DWM didn't use so much RAM that aero fails

See my specs- I'm not short on RAM - 8GB; both cards are 1GB cards (nearly identical)

Note: I get a pop-up warning me that there is a memory issue (DMW) and Windows is about to revert to the classic view (paraphrased) just before this happens.

    TIA,
      My Computer
