cant install printer driver when sharing HP printer

    just remove the printer (if listed) from "devices and printers". Then goback to a "restore point" let's say 1 or 2 days back in time. Then just connect the printer to usb (use another usb port, maybe this one is not working well). Windows should detect it and install driver by itself. Please tell what happens then

    I'm not quite sure how this has happened .... but problem solved.

    I am baffled as to how ... as I was in the process of uninstalling the software. However I now have a network connected remote printer which works! At least for now anyway.

    In that case I I can only imagine that a new driver install was attempted over an old driver thereby corrupting it.
