Install Windows XP on Notebook Compaq Presario CQ40 717TU

    hello there,.. please help!

i have Compaq Presario CQ40-717TU Notebook PC,
    the problem is

my netbook support for windows vista, but i want to downgrade it to windows xp, because some school work still using windows xp. I've been surfing everywhere.

I can a lot of tutorials some of which is flash the bios. update bios with its high risk.
As for some of them give a tutorial to make your own xp sata, using "nlite" and I became confused when I have to find a suitable driver for ahci [CQ40-717TU].

to the seniors and professors. please guide
where I have to download the ahci driver?

how do I update my bios (I still lay the problem update / flash bios).

    thanks before...

First check for all the Win XP drivers for your hardware.
You can check your HP/compaq PC here:
General XP Downgrade Guide for HP Laptops - HP Support Forum
NOTE: Please read this thread fully.

If your Win XP CD, does not support your Sata Controller, you will need to load drivers to uses at F6.
Load Sata Controller drivers with a floppy disk is the best way.
SATA Drivers - Load in Windows XP Setup on Dual Boot
    OR
SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD

Do you have Windows 7 Ultimate? If so, you can download XP mode for free from Microsoft. It will allow you to run Windows XP and associated software within Windows 7.
