    Power cord question

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this. I just received my new HP computer today. The only problem with it is the wrong power cord. The adapter (brick like thing) plugs into the computer correctly, however the power cord from the adapter to the wall outlet is the wrong one (adapter has a 3-blade type configuration, the power cord is for 3 round type configuration). I have a power cord for a AOC monitor that would fit the adapter and was wondering if there would be any problem using this on until I get the replacement from HP. Thanks for any help.

Exactly what the power cord looks like. The right side of your image is what goes into the adapter while the left side goes to the wall outlet, however, the adapter plugs are a blade type, not round like your image. Like I said, I have a cord that is for my monitor and was wondering if it fits does it matter if that part is brand immaterial.

Hope this works - here is a photo of the adapter that plugs into the computer. The image you posted is what was sent by HP.

Yes, your monitor cable will work just fine if it fits into the adapter. And assuming you are on US power grid and not Europe or other region.

You are just getting 110v from the wall to the adapter.

Thanks for the info. I am on US power grid. I will be powering it up tomorrow.
