    SSD Hard Drive

Wouldn't it be worth $100 to buy a SSD hard drive and put the OS on it and then just put your data, games, pictures and so forth on a regular hard drive?

Yes, if you can afford it. Put the OS and all applications on the SSD if they will fit. A 60 or 80 GB SSD will work for most situations.
