    Hybrid Hard Drive

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with hybrid hard drives. I have heard that there are a lot of cons to these drives. For example, I have heard that the constant power up and down has more wear on it rather than it continuously running.

theres a lot of myths about all new tech. more often then not is all just rubbish.

Hybrid drives are a great balance of speed and size. However with the current HDD climit they are a bit expensive.

the other option would be to pair an existing hard drive you have and a low capacity SSD which are relatively inexpensive.
The same quick caching performance can still be gained.

There does seem to be some issues with a hybrid drive such as hanging and no speed gain in general. For the price of 500GB hybrid, buy a 64GB SSD and transfer your OS to it and you will see some blazing speed.
