Acer Aspire 7720 unknown device problems

    Hey guys,

I have an Acer Aspire 7720 and had problems with the hard drive so I decided to replace it and install windows 7 ultimate. I know about the problem with blu ray playback but there are three devices in my device manager that are coming up as "unknown device" and i'm not sure what they are to install the correct drivers. I was wondering if someone with the same laptop and vista installed could take a screen print of their device manager for me so I can see what I have missing?

    Thanks,

Much better to post a screenshot of your device manager, with unknown devices expanded.

I'm not sure how that could help if it doesn't say what they are but I can do.

If available from the manufacturer, I would install the latest chip-set drivers for your version of windows 7. 32 bit or 64 bit, depending on what version you installed. If that doesn't fix them all, work your way though, Video then audio, etc. Is there anything not working like your touchpad, WIFI adapter? If yes that would be a tip off as what the unknown device might be.

Look for hardware codes in any unknown device properties.

This will help identify what the hardware is, so you have a good idea of which driver(s) is/are missing.

That is, most likely, your 5-in-one card reader. Download drivers from the manufacturer's website.
