Windows 7 RC 64-bit Repeated Crashes
My system just crashes with a shutdown and reboot. The desktop is blank when it comes back up and I have to re-enable the desktop icons.
I had:
Motherboard: Intel DP 45 SG with the latest BIOS (New)
Memory: 4 Gig 1066 MHz DDR2 (New)
CPU: Intel X6800 (New)
Power Supply: Antec 550 (New)
Video: MSI 512MB
My system worked great, but since I was getting my wife a new system I went ahead and upgraded mine to match hers.
I had it upgraded to:
Motherboard: Intel DP 45 SG with the latest BIOS (New)
Memory: 8 Gig 1333 MHz DDR3 (New)
CPU: Intel Q9650 (New)
Power Supply: Antec 650 (New)
They did not have the viedo card on-hand, so I just dropped by a shop on the way home and bought a video card with the same chipset and memory.
Video: ATI Radeon 4890 - 48901GB2
I tried the new ATI drivers and I kept getting this error message.
Could not load file or assembly 'MOM.Implementation, Version=2.0.3470.20910, Culture=neutral, PublicKey Token=90ba9c70f846762e' or one of its dependencies.
The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.
I was hoping it would help me with the problem that started after adding the new ATI card, my system just shuts down for no reason.
I noticed that this error seems to pop up in my logs poretty much right before the system reboots.
The Multimedia Class Scheduler service entered the running state.
That may just be coincidental.
I also get these errors:
CRITICAL
2009-08-10 17:19:19 The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power
unexpectedly.

I am planning on getting a much larger power supply in hopes that the power fluctuations with the power hungry card might be the problem, but
I am open to anything.
