Old HDD In New Computer Unable To Take Ownership

I just built a new Computer from the ground up. I installed a new 64 GB Crucial SSD with a clean install of Windows 7 64 Bit. I am reusing my old Western Digital 500GB HDD for data storage.

As it stands right now my HDD is full of Windows 7 System files from the old build. I want to delete them and start over. However, I can't delete any of them. I do not have administrative permission.

I read through all the post about taking ownership and did all of them. The only thing that has changed is it telling me that I need permission from my self to delete.

I was thinking of reformatting the HDD. Any suggestions?

That's what I would do--assuming there is absolutely nothing on in that you want to keep. Just delete the partition, make a new one, and format it for data or whatever plans you have.

    Thanks for the help!

Take Ownership did not work. Still can't delete. I will post once I have removed the partition and reformatted.
