I am dualboting Vista and windows7 RC 32 bit. No Problems. I want delete the dual boot installation and do a clean install of windows7 64 bit. I cannot find 64 bit drivers for my 2 ultra promise 100 IDE controllers. Anybody know where I can get drivers for this ultra promise 100 IDE controlers.
    Thanks

Have you run the compatibility test?

Did the 32-bit Windows automatically include the Promise drivers? This is a very common controller.

Yes I have no problems with the drivers for the 32 bit drivers for the promise controller version of windows7RC. I need drivers for the 64 bit version of windows7RC for the promise controller.

OK. I will ask one more time.

Have you run the compatibility test?

Did the 32-bit Windows automatically include the Promise drivers? IF YES - you can be reasonably confident that the 64-bit version will also.

Sorry, I should have a little clearer in my presentation. At the present time I don't have the 64 bit system on my computer. I have the 32 bit system on my computer, so I can't run the compatibility test to see if the drivers will be there (in the 64 bit version) for the promise controller. But I do understand now what you are suggesting. I will install the 64 bit version and see what happens.
    Thanks

Also, the 32 bit windows7 RC did Not include the drivers for the promise controller. I had to use the drivers that I had on the floppy disc that came with the controller when I bought it. But those drivers didn't work when I tried to use them with the 64 bit windows7RC

Ok, I ran the compatibility test and the promise controller is the ONLY thing NOT compatible with windows7 (however when I use the drivers from the floppy disc that came with the controller it works for the 32 bit version). So I'm ok using the 32 bit version of Win7 RC. My question now is "should those drivers on the floppy that came with the controller work with the 64 bit version of Win7 RC? " If not whats my next move to get the two Hard drives connected to the controller to work with win7 RC 64 bit?
