    Noisy PC Fan!

    Hello,

I would like to address a problem with my Dell Vostro 3550 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium x64. It seems that whenever I turn it on, the fan located on the left side of the computer, is extremely noisy and emits a large amount of heat (even when the system is idle.)

I downloaded OpenHardwareMonitor and noticed that my HDD, a Toshiba MK2561GSY, was at 113.0°F.

If any of you out there can help me, I would highly appreciate it.

It is probably in need of a fan replacement, (and soon ) if it is noisy

113F is about normal for a laptop HDD, but you might blow or vacuum out all of the vent holes on the machine. Excess dirt can cause a noisy fan. If the cleaning doesn't help, yes get a fan replacement as zigzag said.

Ok I will try to change out the fan. I believe my laptop is still under warranty. Thanks :)

A can of compressed air to the vents may help blow out some cobwebs. I'm not sure how far a warranty extends, as the sucking up of fluff dust and other debris may be classed as miss use but a faulty fan is possible.
I've never had a truly quite laptop, well part from my macbook, that's silent unless you hold your head to the base, or leave it doing something stressfull, and then the fan kicks in at an audible level.
