    Dual monitor Setup HELP!

I have a Samsung 530 Series TV. I also have an LG E2370 monitor. I am using a dual link DVI cable to use the 120 hz on my monitor. My 560 TI grphx card has a dual link DVI (which i use for the monitor), but NOT an HDMI output. The 560 TI graphics card has another Dual Link DVI connection, but my TV does not. Which means i have to use my onboard video which DOES have an HDMI, to use the Samsung 530 TV as a second monitor.

All i want to do is use my TV for when i watch movies and my monitor for everything else.

All i've done is go to display properties and try to do this from there, but the samsung TV just says "Check cable" which i've already done. Either that happens, or both monitors go blank.

Please help. Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. I built my computer.... Now i want to use my TV with

There is recent firmware for your TV available on Samsungs website.

    Support for LE37C530F1W

I would imagine you may need the latest version.

Why don't you just get an dvi to hdmi adapter. Or even better a dvi to hdmi cable. Monoprice has them pretty cheap and good quality. I have 2 of these cables that I use for my brothers laptop.

i'll probably just get the adapter... this is not my tv and can't have any chance of a firmware via usb messing it up. I really hope the adapter will resolve the issue and something doesn't come up afterwards. Regardless... Thanks for the help and i'm still open to other ideas/fixes !! ... THANKS!

Why will an adapter work when pure HDMI fails? To me it's a hardware incompatibility issue...

Have you checked which firmware your unit presently runs?

to clarify things i have TWO graphics cards. Onboard. and a PCI-E GeForce 560 TI. Onboard has HDMI. The 560 TI does not.

An adapter may fail because my HDMI port is on my onboard, while the Dual link dvi connection i use, is on my 560 TI.

I think things are getting complicated because they are 2 different graphics cards? I'm sure i will have to tweak a few things for it to work like how i want it to. I haven't checked the firmware version on this TV. I dont even know how. Its not mine. But i will check. I'm fixing to go to FRY's electronics to return some games cause i realized i only needed Skyrim, COD: MW3, Starcraft 2, and Battlefield 3 LMAO. When i return these i will get the HDMI to DVI adapter.

If anybody has any ideas on how to get my onboard graphics's HDMI to work as dual monitor with my TV asides from getting an adapter.... Let me know and i'll return the adapter.

Wow that's a lot of typing.

    Thanks all!!!!!

I just learned some intel's onboard graphics can operate with the stand alone graphics. So it might be worth checking in the BIOS. Otherwise as I said an adapter or cable should help.

I am using the 560 ti for both monitors. I bought a Dual Link DVI to HDMI adapter.

I appreciate all of the quick responses and help. Thanks everyone!
