Tv says " Mode not supported" after CPU reboot.

Hey guys wasn't too sure exactly where to throw this issue so i hope this is acceptable.

Its like, my PC works fine in the rez i'm in 12080x1024 when i was on xp i used my 1920 rate, but when i reboot my pc when it gets to the blue screen before it shows the desktop it will go black and my tv doesn't pick up the signal.

What i find funny, is out of the 4 monitors i have available, i can use one of them and plug my monitor cord into the small monitor when i reboot...when i see the blue screen before desktop shows i can just unplug the monitor in plug it into my TV and i get a picture...

I find this a hassle .... having to pull my roomates monitor out everytime i reboot my pc.... does anyone appear to have some sort of tip or idea i might be able to take advantage of ... i would appreciate any feedback at all, thanks guys

    Ciao.

    Hi dstylez

    Welcome.

You made the story quite hard to follow.
I think I know what's happening, but I need to get some better info from you.

So I'll ask some questions you need to answer for the picture to become clear.

    1. Is your TV a LCD? What brand, what model?
    2. What is the native resolution of that TV (1920x1080) ??
    3. how many inches is it?
    4. what cable(s) do you use? VGA (blue), DVI (white), or HDMI ? (Black)
    5. What resolution do you set on your roommates monitor?
    6. Can you check please what the refresh rate is set to when it's on your roommate's monitor. (in Hz)
    7. What brand and make Graphics card do you have?

One tip I can tell you now. If your TV is LCD it will almost certainly have two or three entrances for connecting a pc.
    VGA, DVI and/or HDMI
With your remote you can choose which entrance to use in the menu.

PC entrance usually is VGA (the blue cable) and DVI/HDMI are named differently on the menu.

    Post back please

I'm off to bed, but post the answers anyway.

I'll see them tomorrow or someone else might be able to help you.

hey sorry if i was miss leading in that post... i wanna clear a few things up, its not my settings that is the issue at all... my tv is a 53"(LCD) samsung i use a VGA cord in the back of my tv to get my picture from my tower to my tv. my picture is fine all the more however its when i reboot my PC with my tv connected. my tv will not pick up my tower and i gotta restart it from the back, connect my monitor then when my tower is rebooted connected to my monitor, i can take my vga cord from my monitor and plug it into my tv and i see a picture. but if i reboot my pc connected to my tv i get nothing.

My components are fairly new, my pc all together is a great pc. closes in on 7.5 on the 'windows 7 rateing' Asus motherboard AMD 64 dual ... my video card is from the 4800 series 1ghz. ATi . my TV all together was over the 2 grand mark, about 5 months ago. the frequency is set at 60 hrz i bealieve i found 70 wouldn't give me a black screen

I used 1920 rez when i was on my XP copy of Windows, now i can't go above 1280. which i'm fine with all togetrher. but some games arn't. i wouldn't mind knowing if windows 7 might throw a patch out to fix VGA issues.

Like our friend Squonksc, I am about to retire, so just a note.

I too have a large Samsung (LNT4665??) I too had annoying issues like you describe. These issues disappeared when I got the ATI3850 and connected it via DVI to HDMI.
