File transfer between Android device and Win 7 64 bit Home Preimium

I did not know where to put this so moderatoers if you need to move it please do. I am trying to transver files from my pc to a Viewsonic G tablet but my FTP software wants to open it and it keeps getting errors about establishing a connection. The problem is I do not want the FTP to open it, I want it to open normally with windows explorer. I have just gotten it back (the tablet) after a warranty repair but before I sent it in I had been experimenting with Filezilla and it must have become the default program for opening the Viewsonic. How do I set it back to Windows Explorer being the default program? Thanks

This is not exactly what you were asking for, but I have had good luck transferring PC files to the phone with this tool. The Swiss File Knife ( Free Instant Web Server for Windows/Linux file transfer: sfk httpserv )is a free program that I have used for several years, that is a command line utility that includes a HTTP server. It allows selecting a folder on my PC, and making the files in it accessible to my phone over the LAN by entering the 192.168.0.xxx address in the phone browser.

Do you have an SD card added in? You won't have direct access to the built-in memory like you would see with a usb flash drive or memory card as a rule. For digital cameras as well as other cell phones adding a good 8gb or 16gb card is what usually works.

One example is for phones with a built-in camera where you need to move a photo to the removable card first before you can view in any explorer windows later when the device is plugged into a usb port as a storage device. If you have it plugged in but exit the mass storage when asked you won't see anything at all and have to unplug to replug the device into the port all over again.

For transferring files back and forth between PC and tablet you will want the memory card added in if you haven't done so already. That will be mounted and read as a logical drive in Windows.

    Hi there

If you have Wifi enabled just download ES-File explorer on to your phone = then when browsing it looks just like Windows file explorer - connect to your W7 machine and copy (works both ways). Ensure folders are "Shareable" on your W7 machine.

Free android app from google play.

ES File Explorer (Android) - Download

    cheers

Two other options: use Dropbox on both devices or Bluetooth if available on each.
