Corsair HX750 PSU coil whine after PC shut down

My Corsair HX750 PSU has the tendency to "whine" after I shut down my computer. It's very irritating and I need to turn off the PSU from the back for the whining to stop. It doesn't whine whilst my computer is turned on.
Would/could this be covered under warranty and would I get a replacement model?

    Thanks.

That's normally a sign of a capacitor on its way out.

And yes corsairs warranty is very good, you also have 7 years of it! Fire them off an email, and go from there.

Would I have to send it off? I really don't want to wait for week(s?) until my computer becomes usable again D:

You would yes. If you bought it from a shop you could take it back but an online purchase would result in the same situation.

You've 2 other options, buy a new one, send the old one off (you'd be able to leave the ables in place all they'd want is the psu), chances are you'll get a brand new boxed one to see at full retail price when you get it back.

The other is to ignore it and hope it doesn't go bang and take your mobo, cpu, gpu and ram with it lol.

Call Corsair, they are great with warranty work. They might ship you another if you provide a CC # and then only charge you in the event that they do not receive the other unit back.
