Cannot open folders in my USB Flash

Cannot open folders in my USB Flash drive suddenly. When double click to open, it shows an error small window with:

"Windows cannot find 'E:RECYCLER\E621CQ05.EXENeed to clean USB'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again".

I tried to install Panda cleaner but did not work on Windows 7. Any suggestion, please? I have very important files in the USB Flash drive. Thanks.

Perhaps you dragged E621CQ05 into the recycle bin and emptied it?

All the folders in the USB Flash drive have a little curve black arrow and show a pop up with: "Location: cmd (C:\Windows\System32)"

Please see the screen of what I described at:
    http://www.shareimages.com/image.php?60314-pJqbl5mek5.pk5.anQ-screen1.png

When I double click on any folder. it shows an error window. Please see the screen of what I described at:

It looks like all the folders have been converted to something different [executable?] by a virus?

The individual files in the USB can be opened, but not the ones in the folders.

Still waiting to solve this issue. How can I recover the files in the folders?

Your help will be deeply appreciated.

    Thanks.

Those arrows mean they are only shortcuts. In other words, you never put those folders on your flashdrive. You only put links to the folders on whatever computer you got them off of. Basically, those files just contain the name of where the folders were originally. Nothing you can do except go back to the computer that had those folders and recopy them properly. It's impossible to "recover" them like you asked because there is simply nothing to recover. Sorry about that.

The folders shown in the USB Flash drive are shortcuts now only. The folders and the files inside them could be opened all the time with out problem until this morning. Actually, this USB Flash contains information I was keeping and using apparently "safe" during last four or five years...until now.

Somebody told me about opening the hide folders to check .exe or .inf files. How can I do it? That could be an option checking them by date of creation?

I'm still waiting for helpful info from somebody there to recover the files form these folders.

    Thanks.

    Good news!!

I finally found a solution and could recover the access to all the folders in the USB Flash (And all their content). Downloaded a USB Virus protector and cleaned it. Since I downloaded the trial version, the program detected the problem in the USB and suggested to purchase the full version (US$25.95). Not much money, comparing withe the value of the information I though was lost.

Anyway, I appreciate the good intentions guys. I hope this information help many others later.

    Thumbs up for this software!

Hmm. Normally I would argue to the ends of the earth against coughing up that kind of money for a fairly obscure quick-fix program, but I'm glad it worked for you. I'm also very surprised this worked at all! But good for you for finding it. If it really was a virus problem, most well-know consumer virus scanning programs will have some way to scan your individual drives, so it may not be necessary to buy a separate program to scan your device. Malwarebytes is a good one that comes to mind. But I'll definitely keep your program in mind in case anyone else has a problem like this. Glad you got it all figured out.
