The question if your mainboard will work with the AM3 CPU, only depends on if the BIOS supports it or not.

You need to get a smarter guy on the phone at Acer's.

the guy at acer said hes never heard of socket 940

no, thats my current cpu 9150e so i know my motherboard is 100% am2+ compatiible ,right,

thus like you said aslong as the bios supports the am3 cpu it will work

you must have misunderstood my previous post ....
