Not unless the laptop specifically has an upgradeable chip. I believe Dell tried that for a little while, calling it an MXM socket, or something like it, but I don't believe it lasted very long.
I have recently upgraded my Toshiba Sattelite L645D from a AMD Turion Dual Core 2.3 to a AMD Turion 2.6. It was successful and it works fine. However I found that my socket is also compatible with a AMD Phenom II Quad-Core 2.4GHZ.
Would this be better for gaming?

Like the title said, I'm getting random BSOD after upgrading to SSD and RAM.
Initially I thought it was the Intel Rapid Technology, because the system improved after I've installed. But now it still BSOD, but less frequent.
