laptop mouse stopped working on one of two user accounts.

Mouse on one user account disabled somehow. Tried to go to the "ease of access page" to see if I somehow set the disable mouse and keyboard box. That option not set. I suspect heavy fingers and hot keys. In desperation I set the disable mouse and keyboard option. Now I can't turn off because the screen keyboard is setting on top of the option select box and I can't see it and I can't make the key board move in any direction.

Is there a way to disable the laptop touch mouse with a system hot key?
If there is what is the key sequence? I don't want to do it again. Is there away to reverse it.

How can the on screen keyboard be de-activated? The only keys that seem to work are the "tab" , "shift", "ctrl", "Alt" and 'Prntscrn" keys. None of the arrow, number, or function keys work.

Not sure but your laptop manual should contain the information about the hotkey that toggles touchpad activation/deactivation. For example it's Fn+F3 for Dell systems.

    Mouse on/off switch

    Azo,

Thanks immensely for your help. My laptop is a compaq and I found a document on the web that explained that on my model there is a touch switch above the touchpad that will turn on or off the touchpad. You are a life saver, you asked the right question and pointed me in the right direction.

    Thanks again
