Hello POMMIER (I am maybe wrongly assuming you are a pom - like me LOL!!)

Now here are a couple of really good sites that have great deals fro time to time.
Online Computer Store ā€“ Cheap Australian Computer Shop | Shopping Express &
Centre Com : Best PC Hardware Prices!

The first oe does have an EBay site and shipping is free there not that it is expensive fro te store.

Now this of course depends on the size you want and the brand - personally I like Samsung, Crucial, and SanDisk all of which you need to research first. Oh I suppose what you are going to use it for comes into play too ie a small 120GB for the OS and spinners for data. But the smaller drives generally speaking are not my cup of tea and tend to be a tad slower than the larger ones.

    For example for Shopping Express a 250G Samsung 850 EVO - $140 a 500GB $235 and I reentlly picked up a Crucial 750GB on special there for $278

Edit: Forgot to mention Newegg have an Australian outlet now but some stuff still has to be shipped from the US where prices are ridiculously low compared to here

Hey John, thanks bud. Hope you are well?
Well sort of mate broke my leg the day after Boxing day so have had 14 weeks in hospital but home now and just about walking with a stick for short distances but old buggers like me they tell me take longer to heal up.
Hospital stay made bearable having the laptop with me

Hope the new woman is treating you well - no just joking I hope you are both very happy. Me am back on my own after a three year stint living with one of the girls from work and it just didn't work out to be my cup of tea, and besides I am too old and set in my hermit ways now .

Most of my time is spent on the machines and with the grand kids when I can after a long break with their mother for no good reason but alls well now. In fact just got the young bloke his first real laptop a nice little
Asus P2520LA with an i5 (I have the i7 model) and its the granddaughters birthday Sunday and I have a pile of stuff for her

Anyway must stop rambling - sign of old age you know LOL!!

    Glad you are back

My Cruclal MX200 doesnt have the best specs, but it was cheap. Can't complain:

    File benchmark:

THIS was my system benchmark in January, before I added the SSD:

THIS is after I added it...

And THIS is after adding my GeForce GTX 750 Ti:

Between the SSD and the 2GB Video card, it's helped me a lot.

That's amazing, I wasn't expecting anything that good with my cheap SSD, but it's better than a sharp stick or a blade of Valerian Steel in the eye...

    ADATA SU635 240TB, installed/cloned on 7/1, used for 2 days

First run, indicated partition alignment error, probably from Macrium's cloning process

ran Minitool Partition Wizard, used the align tool(took over 90 minutes), second test, not real sure it was worth it

It's probably better than the WD Blue 1TB HDD I was using, but it's not stellar, then again it was a $30 drive on Amazon, I didn't want to spend a fortune. I am also being bottlenecked by the motherboard, it's from 2009 and is probably SATA II at best
