Your 4K nums look pretty good. And that's really what counts most. My Crucial M4 is similar and I am very happy with it.

Marvell isn't the only controller on the board is it?

I have two boards with Intel ~and~ Marvell controllers on them.

    What board do you have?

6- P55 Intels but they are SATA 3.0Gb/s.

The two SATA 6.0Gb/s are Marvell.

    1 JMicron eSATA.

I installed the latest Marvell driver I could find without virus and/or cockroaches in it.
    Dated from 2011.
Some of the newer ones were cracked or bugged or just buggy.

Intel controllers usually get better scores than Marvell does.
Marvell controllers may not work with ssds in the first place, lol

If that's what you have for SATA 6GBs speed then use it.
Your results are just fine anyways. For bug free drivers I like Station Drivers and they have Marvell's latest too.

    windude

Mainly the original Marvell SATA 6.0 moboard controller had major problems. 90xx series I think???

The 9123 I beleive up have been okay or so-so at least.
Anyway I have the second generation of this marvellous controller and you use what you have.
Hey it works so I'm happy!!!!

I have Marvell and Intel 6 Gb/s. Intel way outperforms the Marvell ports. There must be a reason why Marvell ports are provide I suppose

The reason you'll find aftermarket controllers added to many motherboards is that the Intel chipset only has a certain number of ports that it can provide. Motherboard makers add the second controller to the mix to allow us to connect more drives.

Marvell ports do not go as fast as Intel on my mainboards, but I use it for my DVD and BluRay drives and it's problem free.

Any SSD on a Marvell port is still freakin' fast.
