I believe it's post #3 and #4 in this thread

And I believe once in RAID AHCI is automatically changed, not sure as I didn't check it before but it is now lol

Has anyone run the Intel 520 240GB yet? I'm expecting a new rig next week with two of them installed. Not sure if I'll go with RAID0 or not yet... thoughts on that (going with RAID0 or not)?

Envious but don't understand how you get those great results.
I think 2 SSDs in RAID 0 may play a role

I just replaced the boot HDD in my Dell Studio 1749 notebook with a Samsung 830 128GB SSD. What I did was to clone the C: drive with the W7 installation using the supplied Norton Ghost (nice of Samsung :) ).
Using the Samsung SSD management software (Magician), I also did OS optimization tricks, like disable Superfetch.

Here are the results, which I guess are limited by SATA II/ SATA-300 in the notebook.
So far, I'm very happy with the actual performance: W7 loads very fast, the notebook is more quiet, all applications open super fast.

Good job usta. Looks like everything is aligned and working correctly. SSD's are nice aren't they?

    I'm in love with SSDs!

The only thing I have not done yet is the so-called Over Provisioning option in Magician tool.
It says "Over Provisioning is a feature that helps re-size partitions on your SSD to create unused space on the drive, giving the controller room to manage, improve and sustain the performance of your SSD. This feature is restricted by the amount of free space on your drive. Files are not reallocated during the resizing process".

Here is a screenshot of how it looks like. I don't really like to lose in this volume 12GB...

I have certainly read about over provisioning. Personally, SSD Life Free says my SSD will last another 9 years without it, so I'm not concerned :)

Interesting. SSD Life doesn't support Samsung 830 series SSDs. Probably something to do with these SSDs using Samsung's own controller.
I should be able to monitor the disk health via Magician. Also, CrystalDiskInfo can provide SMART info.

Hmmm, according to the history (in bold letters no less ) , it should work.
