    Hi All,

Just installed an Intel 330 120G SSD in my netbook Intel Atom N570 1.66GHz.

What does it all mean? :)

    Thanks

I guess for a netbook it is OK. It must be running in IDE mode. On a desktop with AHCI the nums would probably be higher. But for day to day use you should get a good performance.

Thanks, it is running in AHCI mode, well it was before I did the swap but will check setup and make sure.

The Intel diagnostics is telling me that everything is optimized.

It is certainly preforming much better than the hard drive. Apps go full-splat to the screen instantly and boot is taking less than 30 seconds.

Thanks WHS, I have now and I also checked setup and both are AHCI and a slight improvement I guess with the benchmark.

Did you happen to see my other thread regarding chkdsk errors in the General section? SSD, ChkDsk and Macrium not in harmony Do you have an opinion on the wisdom of letting chkdsk makes repairs? Thanks.

    Hi all,

Just finished the installation of a Samsung 830 128GB SSD. Here are the preliminary results, with the old HDD thrown in just for giggles.

I'm sure that it's just a coincidence, but not 3 days after my overclocking adventure my WD Black 1TB died without warning. I put in a WD 250GB that I had lying around but decided that my now fast system deserved a fast storage device.
