I mean it's a pain in the ar** and driving some people nuts. Crucial seem unable to address it. Some venting on this thread

Ok, I'll quit crying and enjoy the bleeding eyeball performance I get. with a HDD Ms Word took a few seconds to open, with SSD it's open as I release the mouse button.

I have done a clean install after a secure erase with Parted Magic. My previous best was 744. I used Kari's tutorial for the install.

Well, after almost 3 weeks worth of use and almost 40GB more data on it, here are the results from my Samsung 830 128GB ssd......still running like a champ! I don't even see a need in running the Performance Optimizer in the Samsung Utility, it doesn't seem like it's lost a step.

These Samsungs seem to be very nice SSDs. I have to get one in the fall.

If you keep an eye on Newegg, every once in awhile they will have the 128gb bare drive for around $100 and the 256gb model for less than 2 bills! I think the next time I catch the 256gb model for less than $200 I will snatch me one up!

Crucial and Samsung SSD prices are both falling. This makes me wonder if some new and faster SSDs are on the horizon.

Very nice scores. Odd all of your scores except the Read Access are much better than mine yet the total score is quite a bit different.

That is probably true...... and maybe they are capitalizing on the unwavering prices of HDD's. SSD prices are starting to hit the market of people who "won't get one until they are under $1/GB" .
