To check trim open an elevated command prompt and thter this command fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify
It will return - DisableDeleteNotify = 1 (Windows TRIM commands are disabled) or
DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Windows TRIM commands are enabled)
The only issue is that will tell you if the Operating system is sending trim commands to the sata controller, it won't tell you if the controller is using those commands. We know the Intel controllers do, but there is a lot of speculation of whether the Marvel controllers do. I guess, time will tell.
Use the Samsung SSD Magician toolbox and run TRIM when you want.
I clean all my temp files every few days and run the TRIM command through Magician every 7-14 days.
Can be found here under Manual and Downloads> software tab> Magician software (v3.1)> http://www.samsung.com/us/support/ow.../MZ-7PC128D/AM
ok so manual trim will work even if the controller doesnt pass on the auto trim thats good to know, thanks.
Hi Guys, so I received my 128GB Vertex 4 in the post today.
Just finished setting it up with a clean install so I figured you would like to see how it runs in the regular benchmarks.:)
