This seems in line with other Vertex 3 numbers posted here. IT may be a bit lower due to a CPU limitation, i.e. it could be a faster one.

I'm quite happy anyway, feels a lot faster and never been one for benchmarks and stats. Just felt it should of been a bit quicker but maybe not

An "older notebook" is likely a Sata 1.5Gb/s or Sata 3.0Gb/s controller.
The Agility 3 would be at its best on a Sata 6.0Gb/s controller.
It is backward compatible but will have slower read/write speeds.

Plus CPU etc. as Britton30 mentioned.

I can appreciate that Mike, didn't expect it to be as fast as in the desktop anyway. Main thing is its improved the performance of the notebook for a while :)

You would need to look up the specs on the laptop to no for sure what controller is used.

Was just doing that but cant seem to find anything other than SATA mentioned, no version or speed.
Its the one in my specs if anyone comes across it.

A Seagate ST9500325AS, a serial ATA II hard disk is employed for the mass memory.

So it is Sata 3.0Gb/s.
I figured that was what it was.
So you don't get full potential but better than an HDD.

Acers web site was useless for specifications.

mmm what about samsung 830?

Several of us are using the Samsung 830 128GB.

They are about $100 at newegg and Amazon at the moment.
