Good new Paul, I didn't know you had a dead one. Is it the 070H firmware?

I forgot to give an update on my dead Crucial M4.

I updated the firmware and it is working fine again. :)

Yeah I posted here maybe a month or so back saying it had died, it was an OS drive for my lounge PC but had a very old firmware on it. I updated it to the latest firmware in the end I think as I couldn't find the 0301? that everyone said was good anywhere online.

Well slap my face and pull my hair, I remember you mentioning the lounge PC now, although I don't know what a lounge PC is.

Those of us on "this side" lounge = living room.
Lord knows, I will be corrected if I am wrong.

don't mean to jump in on you guys' topic, but i was poking around and noticed you guys talking about a crucial M4 issue. I have one as well and a few months ago i found out about the 5k hour deadline and started digging.

i ended up web chatting with Crucial tech support and they confirmed this issue. they said as long as you update the firmware to 070H (<--at the time, it may be "or higher" now) the SSD would be fine. it's a bit more difficult process for those of us with UEFI bios, but they gave me step by step instructions on how to do it.

so in the end, its real, its confirmed, and i think that was most likely your cause of failure.

Why yes, yes it is. some of our bars are called lounges too, or a doctor's waiting room.
