Too bad they don't really mean much in terms of real world performance. At the rate GTA likes to lock up my pc when online I think I would suffer huge data loss if I kept the ram caching

Heya
Anyone able to give a quick TL;DR of the difference between the EVO and PRO series for the Samsung SSDs? Is it worth spending the extra? It'll only be used for gaming.
The Pro uses MLC vs TLC nand flash as shown here and has has a much longer warranty and faster internal controller, plus slightly better IOPS to back it up. Samsung 850 Pro / 850 EVO versus 840 EVO and 840 SSD Series For gaming i'd say an EVO is fine. I just upgraded my brothers rig with an 850 EVO 250GB and its a monster. Runs circles around my 840 Pro for raw speed it seems.
EDIT: I see you have a 840 EVO 250GB are you just looking for a bigger drive?
How does PSCO2007 manage a higher score on older equipment with an 840 ssd ?
His 4K-64Thrd read rate is so much higher
Also ran a Magician performance test, maybe we could compare.
Guys, disable rapid mode and redo the benchmarks. You are testing your RAMs more than the SSD.
The software says you can enable it. The test is measuring the ram cache not the SSD. That's what Rapid mode is. It sets up a ram cache/ram disk. When you run the tests, they are measuring how fast data is transferred in and out of the Ram Disk. No Sata SSD is capable of those speeds. The SSD is on a SATA bus, and there is no sata Bus that can come close to those speeds.
