In earlier posts there was considerable discussion regarding "over provisioning" and SSD size/capacity with particular focus on Intel SSD's. Tom's hardware has a very interesting piece on the new 520 Intel SSD that sheds some interesting clarity on both those discussions (in the last few paragraphs). I thought it would be an interesting read.There is some limited discussion on "raise" that is being employed by many manufacturers.

Here are some results for my Crucial M4 128GB (FW: 0309)
The SSD is aligned and Trim is on. ![]() ![]() ![]() Performance is of course much better than with a spinner but don't really know if these results are typical for this SSD. |

Michael, the big blocks are really fast - much faster than my 64GB M4. But the 4K looks a bit odd. My nums are 105/178.

show hidden folders show file extensions thru registry I am trying to setup a default user or machine setup for how win7 handles folder view options.
