You started with an AMD. Following that, FX4100 Black with Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P mobo $110, 8GB DDR3-1333 RAM $30, HD 6870 video $190 (before $30 MIR). Leaves you $70 for shipping, case and PS. Case and PS estimate around that $70 mark so you need someone to float you the shipping while waiting for the $30 rebate.

Honestly if you really doing the budget thing look into a quad apu and get a compatible hybrid crossfire gpu then move on to other parts

Might be worth your interest /quad apu hybrid crossfire like a 6770 it would give you performance like a 6870 lol worth a shot

    tyvm.
I ended up having to drop my price back to 400$ flat. So I just went with the 109$ fx 4100 based system.
Its not the best, but it will do plenty fine.

Test new pc gamer on battlefield 3 full ultra setting - YouTube
This video even shows a fx4100 thats only been OC'd to 3.9ghz, with nearly zero percent stutter while frapsing during 40 player maps.
Thats good enough for me. I wanted to get all I could on the performance, but had to drop back to 400$.
I wont go with dual core (Even though arguable they are still holding out I guess).

All the info was helpful in seing just where my options laid. If I would have had 20 bucks more for a cpu, I might have considered some x4's, but I didnt, and the differences are pretty minimal as it is. considering how easily the 4100 overclocks with stock fans and no voltage mods.

Understood but the above what was offered is under 400 bucks plus shipping iss free you could use what was offered and it will be more powerfull what you are wanting to buy

You said you have the case /Dvd burners comes with the cpu i supllied your grand tottal with all that is offered would be a little under 400.00 and would hang with some top systems because of the hybrid crossfire mix i honestly think this would be a better buy for you

The graphics would let you do the ultra settings like no problem it would be like running 6870 or a litle higher
